J. Michael Fingerhut is the President and CEO of Triton Security, which he founded in 1996.  Michael possesses one of the most extensive and diverse security resumes in the industry including positions as a uniformed officer, field inspector, bodyguard, operations, branch and district manager, undercover investigator, retail security manager, hospital director of security, executive protection agent, military infantry, reconnaissance, aviation and intelligence officer, and top secret cleared facility security officer.

Michael began  his security career with Burns International Security Services as a  $2.34 an hour security officer in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri during summer breaks from the University of Miami, Florida.  Transferring from Miami to the University of Missouri obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration of Justice, Michael was commissioned an Officer in the United States Marine Corps (infantry) and the United States Navy (Aviation), retiring as a Reserve Naval Officer in 1996.  He was an undercover operative for Sears, Roebuck St. Louis running sting operations that resulted in the prosecution of several dozen employees, and also served Sears as a Retail Security Manager achieving record felony and misdemeanor shoplifter arrests. 

In 1983 with Wells Fargo Guard and Investigative Services in St. Louis, Michael progressed from Field Manager through the ranks to Branch Manager, working in New Orleans, Fairfax Virginia, Gaithersburg Maryland, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and the Baltimore Branches.   In his last year with Wells Fargo, he achieved 190% of his profit goal, double the amount the business plan required.  Joining Pinkerton in 1986 as District Manager for the largest office in the country, his territory included Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia.  With a staff of 500 officers, clients included The Headquarters buildings for the United States Department of Justice and the United States Department of Interior.  As Facility Security Officer (FSO) under the Defense Intelligence Service Clearance Office (DISCO), he held a Top Secret Clearance.   During the Iran-Contra investigation, he performed Executive Protection at Lt. Col. Oliver North’s Virginia home and also worked as a tactical Strike Team Photographer during the West Virginia coal mine strikes.

In 1988 Michael became the Director of Security for the Children’s National Medical Center and Children’s Hospital in Washington D.C.  and was profiled in a cover article by the American Society of Industrial Security’s (ASIS) August 1983 Security Management Magazine.  Mr. Fingerhut authored the hospital’s security policy and procedure manual and served as the Vice Chairman of the International Association of Hospital Security and Safety (IAHSS) D.C./Maryland/VA Chapter.

At Children’s Hospital, Michael also provided security escorts for First Ladies Nancy Reagan and Barbara Bush, activist Jessie Jackson, entertainers Michael Jackson, Harry Connick Junior, Marie Osmond, Salt n Pepa, Ice-T, several U.S. Surgeon Generals, and dozens of other dignitaries including twenty foreign first ladies.  Michael authored the Childrens National Medical Center Security hiring practices and training programs, and designed and directed the installation of an electronic security system including hundreds of card accessed doors and cameras hospital wide and at eleven remote clinics and sites.   In the mid 90’s he provided personal protection for numerous celebrities including Bruce Willis, Cindy Crawford, Sylvester Stallone, Danny Glover, Muhammad Ali, Martin Sheen, Don Johnson, and others at the Grand Opening of Planet Hollywood in Washington D.C.
